      As the educational hubs within the county，county high schools are experiencing “collapse”due to the dual loss of faculty and students，declining teaching quality，and decreasing college admission rates. Such“collapse”threatens the realization of regional educational equity，perpetuates the inter-generational transmission of poverty，solidifies social stratification，and hinders rural revitalization goals. The“collapse of county high schools”mainly manifests as their functional failure within the educational and social systems，their diminished public images on people’s minds，and their weakened sustainable development capacity. The primary causes of this collapse include open admission policies，unbalanced development，and outdated school operation models. Therefore，revitalizing county high schools is imperative and can be achieved by reshaping their core functions， promoting balanced and sustainable development through policy adjustments and regional collaboration，localized talent cultivation and resource integration，as well as innovative school operation models and resource sharing.
