Mathematical Quality of Instruction in America is an instrument reliably measuring several dimensions of the work teachers do with students around mathematical content through the segments of their classroom videos. It is distinct from generic instructional measurement instrument, and highly operational. The assessment result from MQI is highly generalized. This paper summarizes the dimensions of the instrument as well as its advantages, shed light on the development of instruments assessing classroom instruction of mathematics. |
