Journal of Shanghai Normal University (Natural Sciences), founded in 1958, is an academic journal in both Chinese and English in the fields of natural sciences. It is governed by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and sponsored by Shanghai Normal University. The journal is publishedbimonthly by the Academic Journals Center of Shanghai Normal University and publicly distributed both domestically and internationally (ISSN 1000-5137; CN 31-1416/N).

Aims &Scope

The journal aims to timely report innovative and high-level research findings across various disciplines within the natural sciences. It also publishes comprehensive review articles on the latest advancements in specific fields of study or research topics, offering references and guidance on research directions and methodologies. It mainly covers research results in fields such as mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science and applied technology, geography, environmental science, chemistry, biology, sports science, tourism, architecture, and mechanical engineering.

Abstracting & Indexing

The journal has been selected as a Source Journal for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations Database (CSTPCD), and has been indexed by many international and domestic abstracts and databases, including Zentralblatt MATH (ZM, Germany), Chemical Abstracts (CA, USA), ICI World of Journals (Poland), ICI Journals Master List (Poland), Chinese Mathematical Abstracts, Chinese Science Abstracts, Chinese Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database, and China Science and Technology Journal Database of CQVIP.

Awards

Since 2000, the journal has twice received the "Excellence in Standardization for Chinese Academic Journals" award. In 2006, it received the "Outstanding Editing and Proofreading Quality Award" jointly presented by the Shanghai Press and Publication Administration and the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission. In both 2010 and 2015, the journal was awarded the second prize of the "Outstanding Journals of China Online Scientific Papers" by the Ministry of Education. In 2011, it was named one of the "Top Ten Journals" and "Top Ten Editorial Offices" in the second national selection of normal university journals organized by the China Society of University Sci-Tech Journals. In July 2013, it received the "Contribution to University Discipline Development Award" from the same organization. The journal also received the title of "Distinguished Sci-Tech Journal of Shanghai Universities" in both 2014 and 2016. In 2019, it received an excellent rating in the national evaluation of journal editing and proofreading quality.
