MWCNT-PEI对细菌菌膜生长和结构的影响

摘要:
菌膜是细菌适应周围环境的重要生存模式,在调控地球物质循环方面发挥着积极作用.碳纳米材料由于其独特的理化性质,在多个领域得到广泛应用.这些材料释放到环境中是否会影响菌膜生长和结构的变化,成为纳米毒理学领域的前沿热点.文章合成了一种接枝聚乙烯亚胺的多壁碳纳米管(MWCNT-PEI),具有良好的分散性、稳定性,以及优异的抗菌能力.同时,MWCNT-PEI会改变菌膜的生长周期和成熟菌膜结构组分,即刺激细菌分泌更多的胞外多聚物基质(EPS).文章可为评估碳纳米材料的环境风险提供理论指导,也可为调控菌膜生长和结构提供新思路.

Effects of MWCNT-PEI on biofilm formation and structure

Abstract:
Biofilm is an important survival mode for bacteria to adapt to the surrounding environment, and plays a positive role in the earth's material cycle. Carbon nanomaterials have been widely used in many fields due to their unique physical and chemical properties. Whether these materials released into the environment will affect the growth and structural changes of biofilms has become a frontier hotspot in the field of nanotoxicology. In this work, multi-walled carbon nanotubes-polyethyleneimine(MWCNT-PEI) was synthesized, which showed good dispersibility, high stability, and excellent antibacterial capacity. In addition, MWCNT-PEI can change the growth cycle of biofilm and the structural components of mature biofilm by stimulating the bacteria to secrete more extracellular polymeric substances(EPS). This study can provide not only theoretical guidance for assessing the environmental risks of carbon nanomaterials, but also new ideas for regulating the growth and structure of biofilms.
