Conflicts are still plaguing some parts of Africa and will challenge African future. Although African Regional Organizations have played some important roles in resolving some regional conflicts, they still have many obvious shortcomings. The “Frontline States” is a Southern African regional organization which played an important and practical role in resolving the regional conflicts from 1970s to 1990s. With urgent and practical needs of the members of the organization for conflicts resolution, the organization faced and dealt with conflicts directly and established an economic coordination system among members. The successful experiences of the “Frontline States” are worthy thinking and learning for African Regional Organizations to resolve various conflicts. |
