      There is a growing trend of miscomprehension and misuse of modern Chinese words nowadays. The main types include splitting disyllabic roots, imitation of verb-objects, miscomprehension and misuse of archaisms (including idioms), misuse of negatives; and temporary imitation words etc. Causes of miscomprehension and misuse are varied. It depends on time, the spreading effect and acceptability to see whether the miscomprehension and misuse of modern Chinese words can last long or not.
