      从《汉唐佛教思想论集》的出版到“不仅要脱贫，而且要脱愚”主张的提出，任继愈先生在宗教研究方面所做的工作，为中国的宗教学研究开辟了新的、马克思主义的方向，奠定了坚实而丰厚的学术基础。而且，由他主编或指导的宗教学著作，都已经成为中国马克思主义宗教学的基础性著作，为中国马克思主义宗教学作出了重要贡献。

英文摘要:

      From the publication of Collection of Buddhist Thinking during the Han and Tang Dynasties to the advocacy of the idea of “fighting against poverty and ignorance”, Ren Jiyu opened a new direction of Marxism religious studies, and laid a solid foundation for the Marxism religious studies in China as well. Besides, the religious books written by Ren Jiyu have become the basic works of Marxism religious studies of China, and it is acknowledged that Ren Jiyu made great academic contributions to Marxism religious studies of China.
