Abstract: |
To comprehensively understand the bryophyte flora of Yunnan Province, this study investigated the bryophytes of Shangri-La City. A total of 1,316 bryophyte specimens were collected and identified, comprising 38 families, 88 genera, and 194 species. Among them, there were 15 species of liverworts from 11 families and 12 genera, and 179 species of mosses from 27 families and 76 genera. The dominant families, defined as those with the highest number of species, were Pottiaceae, Mniaceae, Bryaceae, Thuidiaceae, and Polytrichaceae, encompassing 31 genera and 93 species, accounting for 35.23% of the total genera and 47.94% of the total species in the region. The dominant genera were Bryum, Brachythecium, Plagiomnium, Didymodon, and Dicranum, representing 23.71% of the total species in the region. The bryophyte flora of Shangri-La City is classified into 10 distribution types, with a predominance of North Temperate elements (36.72%), followed by East Asian elements (19.21%), and a high degree of Chinese endemism (10.73%). A comparison of species similarity using the Sorenson similarity coefficient between Shangri-La and four other regions in Yunnan (Mingfeng Mountain, Muhong Mountain, Duoyi River, and Naban River) revealed significant differences in species similarity. The unique geographical location and climatic conditions of Shangri-La contribute to its distinctive bryophyte diversity. |
