Abstract:
In this study, six spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) varieties (Sp001, Sp002, Sp021, Sp031, Sp061 and Huang 10-3) introduced in 2020 were identified and comparing tested in the greenhouse. The differences of their botanical characters, nutritional indexes and texture characteristics among six spinach varieties were analyzed. There was no significant difference in basic botanical characters among different varieties. There were significant differences in the contents of cellulose, ascorbic acid, carotenoid, soluble sugar, soluble protein and nitrate nitrogen among different varieties, and the coefficient of variation was 10.37%-19.16%. The conclusion of comprehensive comparative analysis is that Sp031 has the highest leaf thickness and leaf hardness, the highest ratio of leaf length and petiol length the best botanical characters, good comprehensive quality characters. Thus Sp031 is the most suitable variety for mechanized harvest among the 6 varieties.
